Lake Sequoyah Dam Falls
*All pictures my own unless otherwise stated
Lake Sequoyah Dam Falls may not really count as “falls’ per se as they flow over a man made dam but they are stunning and I wouldn’t want you to miss them.
Watch out for the road sign announcing the town of Highlands. It will be on your right hand side and you will be able to pull off the road and park safely.
A little scramble down the bank and you will be able to get in some good photo shots.

If you visit when the water flow is low, you can scramble right down to the river bed to take a full on shot of the Falls and also look further down the river to get sight of a series of smaller falls.

If you’re heading North and have already enjoyed the majestic “Cullasaja Falls”, the fun “Bust Your Butt Falls”, hiked to the scenic “Ranger Falls”, taken a walk behind “Bridal Veil Falls” and gotten damp at “Dry Falls”, then “Sequoyah Lake Dam Falls” are the last Falls to stop at before you reach the town of Highlands where you can stop off for some well deserved refreshment before taking a short ride to “Glenn Falls”, the last on this stretch of spectacularly scenic road.
Highlands is a lovely town where you will find many places to step in and refresh yourself and some cute stores line each side of the towns central street if you wanted to take your time to browse. As a starting point, I can recommend Bucks Coffee Cafe, if you’re looking for just a coffee and a light snack, or if you are starting out early with breakfast in mind. Great coffee! If you’re looking for more of a lunch or dinner, then we always enjoy the food, atmosphere and service at the Main Street Inn, on a warm day it’s lovely to sit out on the patio and watch the world go by as you linger over a deliscious meal. We’ve never been disappointed yet!
