Marcus, aka “the boy”, is our 26yr old son who is currrently living in the UK with his girlfriend Charly.
They arrived a week ago and we’ve just been enjoying our time together, relaxing, catching up and doing some fun things.
One of the things he used to love when he lived here was a day out, thrashing around Croom ATV park on our four-wheelers. So yesterday we loaded up the trailer and headed out. It was a good excuse to try out the new (to us) Polaris Sportsman we part ex’d the old ATVs for last month!

Croom ATV Park is a 40 min. drive north of Tampa on the I-75 and easily accessed off of exit 301.
Leaving ahead of us gave them about an hour to unload, head out into the trails and burn off some testerone doing all the crazy man-type stuff that just wasn’t going to happen when the girls got up there and were ready to ride! Not that the girls are sissys and can’t take the riding but it was Charlys’ first time ATVing and we didn’t want to scare her off forever!
We arrived just as they were riding back into the parking area from their first ride out ~ big cheesy grins all over their faces!

After a quick snack on some fried chicken, the boys were ready to head out again so Beth and Charly got kitted up and ready to roll.

Isn’t it supposed to be the other way around?!

I tried to get a pic of all three together, but Iain was so excited he shot off before I had the chance!!
So now it was my favorite bit…just me, relaxing in the sun and reading my book. With maybe a little dozing fitted in too 😉

For those of you who know the Boy and his driving history, you can see why I would hesitate to be on the back of any moving vehicle with him!

Yes, I know…he really should be wearing a helmet and some body protection.

Croom is situated over 2,600 acres and boasts 40miles of sandy trails. There are several parking areas, from where you can head out to enjoy the trails which wind through forest of Longleaf Pine and Cypress.
We always settle at a space with a large covered picnic area as we always bring along lunch; yes, even after the fried chicken snack they were hungry!
Once I was done being a good mother and had fed and watered the troops, I decided that they’d disturbed my peace for long enough and it was time for them all scoot off again!
Here’s some more pics from the rest of our day 🙂

All in all, it was great to be back out with the family again and the bonus was that everyone got home intact with no injuries, bumps or bruises ~ hurrah!
